About Us

I am fortunate to have worked in the marine industry for 30 years and have an extensive background in all aspects of maritime life.  My career started at the age of 14 as a Dock boy at Goat Island Marina in Newport, RI, and continued there throughout college, as an Assistant Dock Master.  Responsibilities included ongoing maintenance of the 300 boat slips and organizing contracts for seasonal and transient customers.  After receiving my 100 Ton Master U.S. Coast Guard License, I ventured out to work on private yachts throughout the East Coast and Caribbean.  During this time, I gained an appreciation for the importance of well-maintained yachts and familiarized myself with the waterways of the East Coast.  After a few years, I decided to return to living on land.  I was employed at the prestigious 41 North Marina and later at the Hinckley Company.  At 41 North, my position incorporated Dock Master operations as well as Sales & Services Coordinator.  Under my supervision, a personalized yacht maintenance/management service for the clients was created.  We not only maintained the vessels but relocated them throughout the east cost as needed.

Working at the Hinckley Company in Portsmouth, I gained an appreciation for custom craftsmanship.  As marine operations manager, I focused on quality control and making sure the customers’ expectations were exceeded.  It was during my time at these two great establishments that I saw a need for personal yacht management.  Since 2009, Alacrity Yacht Services has supervised over 50 privately owned distinguished vessels year round.
